BOLOR ENKHBOLD

Bolor is a Mongolian photographer and writer whose work examines the essential Being beneath constructed layers of identity, perception and mind, through photography as witness and writing as excavation.

A new mom, daughter, sister, wife, survivor and artist, she explores the multifaceted and often conflicting demands of personhood, navigating today’s hyperawareness while finding solace in inward journey to the Self. Her work asks: what remains when all is stripped away?

A Zayat Writing Career Grant recipient at New York University, she spent years working as a marketing and creative leader before leaving to follow her calling. She now works as a freelance photographer specializing in still life, portraiture and analog photography, which she processes in her home lab. Her work has been exhibited in New Zealand.

Her practice moves between personal series, commissioned portraiture, fashion and macro studies, held together by a single thread: capturing presence.

She lives in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia with her partner, son and two cats. She goes by Bo, Bolor or Bobo.
